The world
merely puppets
churning
meaninglessly
recycled
again, and yet, again
till its end is seen
as its beginning of time
nothing happened save a dream

yet not seeing what’s in front
knowing
yet unknown to what is amiss
as in hide and seek
seeking is forgotten
hidden no longer known

unknown of myself
not even the grass
what more the colours
or the wind
that breezes pass
dwelling
oblivion to what is
except in experience
even that, not knowing

balancing
at the very tip
ego robs
irrelevant
surrendering
letting go
ego nowhere seen

Is what I am holding on
What upset me back
Is what I am resisting
What deluded me
Is what I am ignoring
What is hidden
Will be revealed
Only until I faced with it

What if the Buddha is born elsewhere
Will he be called “Buddha”?
Or any other possible label?
What if not Pali, but a different language?
A different life time, a different world cycle
Surely the past Buddhas are not called Buddhas?
Is there a buddhist, or merely a practitioner?
Regardless of label, she aims for total freedom?

Leaves are no different than this body
It changes with time
Arising and passing off
To be replaced with yet another
If both have the same nature
As fleeting as a bubble
Why then do I give specialness
To this body or to anybody?
Am I not making a hierarchy
Out of this illusionary nature?

Though both are heard?

In essence, one is Doing
The other, Being.

Whether you are meditating
Or sleeping?
For both are as still as dead
I can only be sure
By the posture you take
But then again
What has posture
